This year's Annual General Meeting will take place at Hereford House, 3 Offa Street, Hereford, HR1 2LL. It will comence at 11.00 am on Wednesday March 9th, and will include a short talk by Les Cook on the "History of the Traditional Hereford". Members and visitors are most welcome.

The National Primestock Show this year had contingents from two Traditional breeders in the Hereford lines. Llandinabo Farms, and David Powell both sent steers. David Powell's steer was Reserve Champion, while several of the Llandinabo steers gained prizes unfortunately the Supreme Championship went to a non traditional.

The Hereford section at the Rare Breeds Show and Sale was supported by F Cook and Son, whose two heifers sold extremely well, reaching 1300 and 1240 guineas, while the bull entered made 1200 guineas.

It was with considerable sadness that the club was informed at the annual Herd visit that the President, Geoffrey Cloke, had died peacefully, after a long struggle with cancer. Geoffrey was one of the intial founders of the Club in 1996. He had fought strongly for its formation and maintenance not just within the Hereford Cattle Society, but also within the Rare Breeds Survival Trust. He was a keen conservationist of all agricultural livestock, and the Club and the Rare Breeds have lost a formidable champion with his death.
